Heavy Thoughts, Ugh!

Heavy thoughts wear us out!

They niggle into our brains and our hearts to imprison our thought-life.

Negative

Self-Absorbed

Self-Condeming

Self-Destructive

Pitiful, rather than Powerful

Thoughtless thoughts

that are Unintentional

and Lazy

They are thoughts of concession, not true thoughts of surrender, sacrifice or abnegation!

They are NOT thoughts that free us to believe, to submit, to forgive, to repent, to sacrifice: These positive investing thoughts TAKE ENERGY AND INTENTION.  Positive energy exerts thoughts of warfare against those negative thoughts that constrict our love of God and others.

Hear the words of Paul of Tarsus:

Romans 8:1-7  There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot.

So today, do not think heavy thoughts.  Be FREE!  When you hear the voice of the Lord, believe in Him.  He will free your thoughts!

Hebrews 3:7-14

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,

“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
on the day of testing in the wilderness,
where your fathers put me to the test
and saw my works for forty years.
10 Therefore I was provoked with that generation,
and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart;
they have not known my ways.’
11 As I swore in my wrath,
‘They shall not enter my rest.’”

12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.

Therefore, let us all enter into His Rest in our minds today. Let us leave our heavy thoughts behind and move forward in our mediation toward thoughts of rest, life, and light.
