What do you need?
I have a dear friend who is likely to be evicted in the near future. She has roughly 4 children and her husband has been looking for steady work for some time. Honestly, the situation makes me think of a scene from Les Miserables. Jean Valjean is imprisoned for stealing bread so his loved ones will live, so he steals. He is thrown into the Bastille and sadly, only learns his lesson from a priest after stealing again. What is the lesson?
ASK GOD FOR WHAT YOU NEED! It seems almost harsh to demand from God, but when you are desperate, it is important to ask God to be God. In Luke 11:10-13 Jesus explains about the goodness of God.
Luke 10“For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened. 11“Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? 12“Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? 13“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”
Fundamentally, we must all go to God and ask for what we need. Do we need a healthier marriage? Are we lonely? Do we need a friend? Why not take a moment to ask for what you want right now?
