What if the only thing we can control is our reaction or response?
What if everything we think, feel, or DO is a reaction or response to something else, a giant connected chain reaction?
Face it! There is only one thing we can control in our lives. We want to control everything, but there is truly only one thing under our power. We can’t make anyone love us. Most often we can’t find work that fulfills us and if we do, we can’t keep it or stay fulfilled. When we find a home we love to live in, it begins to need a little paint here or the gutter fixed there. We can’t prosper ourselves, and if we work hard to gain possessions they decay. Our kids are out of control. Our debt is out of control. Often we can’t control our weight, our health, never the weather, or the people around us. Good grief, we can’t even control our appetites, our emotions, or our reactions. Is there ANYTHING we can control?
